Why is the City of Eagle pursuing this project?

The City of Eagle is pursuing this project to address the shortage of sports fields and sports courts within our community. This initiative aims to create a multi-generational space that caters to a wide range of residents and visitors. It will provide much-needed facilities for youth leagues, adult sports, and regional tournaments, as well as opportunities for recreation enthusiasts.

What funding has been allocated for this park?

What is the timeline for the project?

Once funding is secured, construction of the fields and facilities could begin as early as Spring 2026.

Several key components of Phase 1 have been completed, laying a strong foundation for further development. These include:

  • Land Acquisition: The 80 acres for the Eagle Regional Athletic Park have been successfully acquired.
  • Preliminary Grading for Four Baseball/Softball Fields: Site preparation for the ball fields has been completed.
  • Highway 16 and Park Access Improvements: Construction is now underway on the Highway 16 road improvements, including the addition of acceleration and deceleration lanes. Work has also begun on the park access road, which will be paved and will include designated parking spaces. Completion of the project is anticipated by November 2025.
  • Curb, Gutter, and Paving – Roadway: Finalizing the roadway leading into the park, including curbing and paving, to create a safe and welcoming entrance.
  • Underground Utilities: Natural gas and electrical have been completed for phase 1. Conduit for future under grounding of electrical and fiber infrastructure has been installed, ensuring seamless future development and park functionality. Sewer and water are ready for installation with field construction.
